Elite Performance Director of the British Olympic Association

Sir Clive Woodward, the coach who led England's rugby players to World Cup glory in Australia in 2003, is now the full-time elite performance Director of the British Olympic Association. On 6 March 2008, he had the privilege to run with the Olympic torch while going through Russell Square, London. At the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games he acted as Deputy Chef De Mission and undertook a review of practices at the games for preparation for London 2012.

In detail

Clive enjoyed a successful career with Rank Xerox that included a spell in Australia while playing his club rugby down under. On his return to the UK he has ran his own IT leasing company and has hands on experience of business at the sharp end. His distinguished playing career included 21 England caps and touring with the British Lions in 1981 and 1983. His coaching career prior to England included Henley and London Irish.
