Dr. Peter Scholl-Latour is widely acknowledged as one of Germany's most prolific journalists with a reputation for hard hitting reports from the World's most volatile trouble spots.

Having witnessed firsthand a number of major conflicts around the world, Peter offers audiences great insight into current world events and an expert view on what the future holds on the global political horizon.

Dr Scholl-Latour read Arabic Studies at the Universities of Mainz, Paris and Beirut, before embarking on his career in journalism firstly as the ARD correspondent in Africa and Paris before working for two years as programme director for WDR. From 1975 to 1983 he managed the ZDF television studios in Paris, moving on to become a member of the Gruner and Jahr Board of Directors and in 1988 Editor of 'Stern' magazine.

Peter has visited nearly all countries of the world and has always been drawn by the excitement of reporting close at hand on major world events. With his extensive experience in international affairs he has written a number of best-sellers and he appears regularly on television and radio.

In recognition of his outstanding contribution to journalism Peter has received numerous awards including the Adolf-Grimme-Preis, the Strassburger Goldmedaille and the Deutsche Fernsehpreis amongst others.

Perhaps the highlight of Peter's outstanding career was when he accompanied the Imam Khomeini upon his return to Teheran from his Parisian exile, the only Western journalist to chosen to do so.
