On 5 February 2000 Pierre-Yves Gerbeau was appointed Chief Executive of the Millennium Dome in London. He was brought in to turn around the fortunes of an attraction struggling in the face of major financial problems and negative publicity. Following the closure of the millennium exhibition at the end of 2000, Gerbeau became Chief Executive of X-Leisure, operator of the Xscape centres and other leisure facilities.

Previously Pierre worked as a consultant specialising in the transfer of high level sport management and performance to the business world, he was also a professional ice hockey player in the US, Canada and Europe. He also became General Manager & Coach of a top French team, as well as a member of their National Team. Pierre was also a top executive at the highly successful Disneyland theme park in Paris.
