Carol is a British television personality best known for being a long-standing co-presenter of Channel 4 game show Countdown. having become the first woman to be seen on Channel 4 at the age of twenty-one. Since then Carol has presented a variety of television shows, mainly scientific and technology related programmes both for adult and children's viewing. They include Tomorrow's World, The Software Show, A Search Out Science Special, Open College: Powerbase Series, Circuit Training Series and Micro Mindstretchers.

She studied at the University of Cambridge (Sidney Sussex College) where at the age of 20 she obtained an Honours Degree in Engineering and followed this with a Master's Degree in Engineering at the University of Cambridge in 1985. In 1999, she moved to ITV, going on to compere numerous television programmes including The Pride of Britain Awards since year 2000, Stars and their Lives, What Will They Think of Next, Tested to Destruction, How 2 on CITV and the popular Better Homes, which began in 1999 and spawned a spin-off Better Gardens. In 2004 she appeared on the second series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Known throughout the world, having launched a brain training game called Carol Vorderman's Mind Aerobics together with BSkyB and also in 2007, released a video game for PlayStation 2 in the United States entitled Carol Vorderman's Sudoku, Carol's experience in presenting and educating has led her to host many corporate conferences and present a number of corporate training and information videos. Her personality is warm and full of energy, as a result of this she has been invited on TV to be interviewed and take part in game shows which include Mrs. Merton, Pebble Mill, GMTV, Crosswits and Noel's Hose Party.
