Harry (real name Matthew Hall) is a former doctor (the one fact that everyone knows about him) and achieved his big breakthrough in 1992 when he won the Perrier Award for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. A radio series Harry Hill's Fruit Corner for the BBC soon followed. The BBC, suitably impressed, then gave Harry a short TV series Harry Hill's Fruit Fancies.
Harry is a regular on British television appearing as a guest on numerous shows, but he has really always been a circuit stand-up comedian and continues to tour with his work across Britain.
Harry has gained a cult following of fans with his excellent style and unique brand of comedy. Regarded by many as the best comedian that Britain has produced in many years and easily the most witty and original.
Harry's comedy is bizarre to some, and it really is quite hard to define what kind of comedy it exactly is, but the most referred name to this type of comedy is "surreal". The main thing is though, that it is very, very funny!
