Joanna Lumley is probably best known for her roles in the British TV series The New Avengers, Absolutely Fabulous, Sapphire and Steel, Jam and Jerusalem, The Friday Night Project, Sensitive Skin and the Land of the Northern Lights.
She is a passionate campaigner for the Gurkhas and is a supporter of many Charities and causes.

Born in Kashmir, India, Joanna Lumley's first acting job was on the 1969 James Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service. She has enjoyed a varied career in television and film to great acclaim, more recently appearing in the last run of ITV1's Parkinson in 2007. Her TV debut was in a well-known UK advert for Nimble bread first screened in 1969 and she went on to appear on The Bruce Forsyth Show. She also worked as a house model for Jean Muir. In 1995 she was awarded an OBE.
