Les Dennis

Television Entertainer and Actor

Les Dennis is acknowledged as one of Britain's most popular stage and television entertainers. He has hosted Central TV's Family Fortunes for twelve years making it one of Britain's top TV game shows with viewing figures of over fourteen million, and which recently won the Challenge TV Viewers Award at the inaugural Challenge TV Gameshow Awards. He has also endeared himself to audiences through his BBC television series The Les Dennis Laughter Show. As a vital member of the zany Madhouse team he appeared in each of the LWT series Russ Abbot's Madhouse and all the Madhouse specials that followed.

Les teamed up with fellow Madhouse regular Dustin Gee when they appeared as the Ugly Sisters in Cinderella at the Alhambra Theatre, Bradford. They went on to star in three series of their own Laughter Show on television, headline the LWT series Go For It and guest shows such as Live From Her Majesty's and the Royal Variety Show. Live shows also featured with Sunday concerts, summer seasons and several Madhouse stage shows with Russ Abbot. The partnership was tragically cut short when sadly, in 1985, Dustin Gee died suddenly.

In 1987 Les landed his first series for BBC TV Les Dennis' Laughter Show and teamed up with Russ Abbot to guest star on the entire series of The Russ Abbot Show also for the BBC. He also began hosting Family Fortunes for Central Television.

His theatre credits include the leading role of Bill Snibson in the award winning musical Me and My Girl at the Adelphi Theatre in London's West End.

In 1997, he made his big screen debut in the film Intimate Relations alongside Julie Walters and Rupert Graves.
