His Excellency Supachai Panitchpakdi Secretary-General of UNCTAD(The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development)

Dr Panitchpakdi has served as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce of Thailand. In 2000 he received the prestigious Nikkei Asia Prize for his achievements in national growth and the Royal Decoration of "Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant". He has been actively involved in international trade throughout his career and in 2002 he was appointed director general of the World Trade Organization.
