Jeremy Vine

Journalist, Broadcaster, Former BBC Presenter of Newsnight and Panorama

Jeremy Vine established his reputation as a smooth-talking but tough presenter on Newsnight, Political correspondent at Westminster, reporter on the Today programme and Africa correspondent based in Johannesburg. He now presents his own show at lunchtime on Radio 2, hosts Eggheads, Points of View and pops up with a range of graphic wizardry whenever there's an election. He is also one of only four presenters in the history of Panorama, the world's oldest award-winning current affairs programme.

In detail

Jeremy's early career was as a news trainee. His first reporting assignments were on Radio 4's Today programme. He then took up the reins as a political correspondent. Jeremy has won several awards during his career. In 2000, he won the Amnesty International Radio Award and more recently has been recognised for his achievements in the Sony Radio Academy Awards (the equivalent of the radio Oscars).

His anecdotes of working as a political correspondent are both thought provoking and amusing. He is an excellent corporate host, very effective at question and answer sessions, chairing debates, seminars and award ceremonies as well as presenting in-house videos.
