About Paolo Scaroni

Paolo Scaroni, former CEO of Eni SpA and current Vice President of Rothschild Investment Bank, has recently been appointed as the new Chairman of AC Milan. Paolo has also served as the Chief Executive of Enel and Pilkington. He is currently a non-executive director of Veolia, as well as being on the Board of Overseers of Columbia Business School.
Paolo has an economics degree from the Università Luigi Bocconi in Milan and an MBA from Columbia University, and spent the early years of his career at Chevron and McKinsey. In 1973, he joined Saint Gobain, where he held a series of management positions in Italy and abroad, until his appointment as head of the glass division in Paris. From 1985 to 1996, he was Deputy Chairman and CEO of Techint. In 1996, he moved to the United Kingdom and was CEO of Pilkington until May 2002. From May 2002 to May 2005, he was CEO of Enel, before moving to Eni which he led until May 2014.

Amongst his non-executive positions, he has been Chairman of Alliance Unichem, Deputy Chairman of the London Stock Exchange and a director of Generali. In May 2004, he was appointed Cavaliere del Lavoro of the Italian Republic. In June 2013, he was made a Commandeur da la Legion d’Honneur.
