Global Strategist & Professor at Yale School of Management
Barry Nalebuff is widely known for his ground-breaking work in game theory and strategy, on changing mind-sets and realising the value of collaborating and forming alliances with the traditional competitor. In combining the advantages of both competition and co-operation, you achieve Co-Opetition, the well-known phrase coined by Barry and the title of his groundbreaking co-authored book. The first economist to apply Game Theory to Business and Politics, Barry reveals to audiences how this revolutionary mindset is a pioneering, high profit means of leveraging business relationships - for any company intent on becoming or remaining the leader in its field. Barry is Milton Steinbach Professor at the Yale School of Management, where he teaches competitive strategy; mergers and acquisitions; political-economic marketing; and game theory and decision-making. Prior to Yale, Barry Nalebuff was an assistant professor at Princeton University (1985-89) and a junior fellow of the Society of Fellows at Harvard University (1982-85). Barry is also an associate editor of the 'Journal of Economic Perspectives', the 'Journal of Law, Economics and Organisation' , and the 'Journal of Conflict Resolution' , and was previously an associate editor of the leading political journal, 'World Politics'. Frequently quoted in magazines and newspapers on business strategy, Barry Nalebuff was featured in a Forbes magazine cover story on Game Theory. His new book, 'Why Not', to be released in Summer 2003, introduces and focuses on problem-solving, creating innovative ideas to resolve, in very simple methods, general issues. In addition to his peers who help creativity and out of the box thinking, Barry looks at how the solutions for different industries lie in their everyday situations, and how it is possible to identify their applications. A natural and passionate performer, Barry is a lively, interactive and very humorous speaker. His inspirational work is now recognised by more and more organisations around the globe, as companies adopt Barry's powerful systematic framework - to see new market opportunities from different perspectives. |
