Comedian and Script Writer
Mike Craig is a very funny man. He has an encyclopaedic knowledge of comedians. He knows their routines, their virtues and their triumphs. He has contributed more than most writers to their material. And when he talks about them - about their acts and their achievements, about their performances, when indeed he becomes them to demonstrate his appreciation and love of them - he is like no other speaker.
Since 1964, Mike Craig has been responsible for writing or producing over 1,000 comedy shows for television and radio. In the sixties and early seventies he wrote for Harry Worth, Ken Dodd, Roy Castle, Selwyn Froggitt, Jimmy Tarbuck, Des O'Connor and Morecambe and Wise, including the classic 1976 Christmas show when Angela Ripon bared her legs!
In 1977, he became a BBC comedy producer and has a string of successes to his credit, in particular his award-winning Grumbleweeds Radio Show, Stilgoes Around with Richard Stilgoe, Ken Dodd's radio shows and the memorable Al Read shows.
Mike Craig has written for, worked with and produced comedy shows for the very best. Over 1,200 comedy shows for TV and radio in 28 years! He is now recognised as an authority on the Golden Age of Comedy and consequently in great demand as a very funny after dinner speaker, as well as a regular performer on the P&O Cruise ships. |
