Jim Bowen is best known as the host of the TV gameshow Bullseye. On Sunday evenings through the winter months, Bullseye stopped being a game-show and began to be an institution. Club comedian Jim Bowen's style and catchphrases spawned a large number of mickey-takes (not to mention the odd notable out-take on It'll be Alright on the Night).
Jim, who honed his act in pubs and clubs in northern England during the 1960s and 1970s, rose to fame on ITV talent showcase The Comedians.
It was in 1981 he landed his best-known role, as the presenter of ITV's darts-themed quiz Bullseye, which ran for 12 years. His "super, smashing, great" and "now look what you could have won..." catchphrases helped turn him into a cult figure.
Jim is an excellent after dinner speaker and an entertaining host, he is always well received by audiences who love his dry sense of humour.
