Dr. Zbigniew Brzezinski International Affairs Expert & Former National Security Advisor to the US President

Professor Zbigniew Brzezinski was National Security Advisor to President Carter from 1977 to 1981 and a member of the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board. He is currently Robert E. Osgood Professor of American Foreign Policy at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and counsellor-in-residence at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies. He appears as himself in the 2009 documentary Back Door Channels: The Price of Peace.

In 1981 Zbigniew was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for the significant role he played in the normalisation of US - Chinese relations and for his outstanding contributions to the human rights and national security policies of the United States. He was also awarded the highest civilian decorations from the governments of Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, and Hungary. He was selected by the US Chamber of Commerce as one of America's Ten Outstanding Young Men of the Year in 1963 and made a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1969 and has been on the faculty of Harvard and Columbia Universities.
