“Have a healthy disregard for the impossible!”
At the age of 17, Eniola made history as the youngest player to debut for the England national team, facing the challenge of a European Championships game. Her groundbreaking journey continued as she represented Team GB in the 2012 Olympics, reshaping perceptions of women’s sports, especially football. Aluko excelled during her six-year tenure with Chelsea FC, emerging as the league’s top scorer and playing a pivotal role in their UEFA Champions League semi-final run. Later, she ventured to Italy’s Juventus before retiring from professional football. Eniola’s leadership transition saw her become Sporting Director for Aston Villa Women FC and LA’s Angel City FC in the US. She also made history by becoming the first female pundit on Match of the Day, contributing to the growing recognition of women’s insights in football commentary.
