Alan Davies is a comedian, writer and actor best known for starring in the TV mystery series Jonathan Creek and as the permanent panellist on the TV panel show QI. Among Alan's projects are A Many Splintered Thing, Bob and Rose, as well as a documentary series on stand-up comedians.

In Detail

Alan began performing stand-up-comedy at the Whitstable Labour Club. In 1991, he was named Time Out's Best Young Comic. He continued touring and performing in the UK and Canada, winning the Edinburgh Festival Critics Award for Comedy in 1994. Alan won the Time Out Award for Best Comic in 1991 and the work offers began to increase slowly, but surely. In 1995, he appeared on the spoof travel show, One for the Road. Three years later he got his own radio show, The Alan Davies Show.
