Alexander Armstrong is a frequent guest host and panelist on BBC's Have I Got News for You and is the presenter of the BBC game show Pointless. He also presented a documentary Alexander Armstrong's Very British Holiday about the history of the great British summer.

Trained as a professional classical singer, Alexander Armstrong met future comedy partner, and close friend, Ben Miller while studying at Cambridge in 1992. He and Ben toured the club circuit, and appeared on Saturday Night Live. In 1996 he was nominated for the Perrier Award with Ben, and he co-starred in four series of Armstrong and Miller from 1997 to 2001. They renewed their partnership for The Armstrong and Miller Show in 2007. He has also appeared in a number of films including Jackboots on Whitehall, Skellig, Matchpoint and Churchill - the Hollywood Years. In 2010 he featured in an episode of the BBC series Who Do You Think You Are? where he discovered that he was a descendant of William the Conqueror. He is also the voice of Mr Smith in BBC1's Sarah Jane Adventures.
