Misha Glenny is an award-winning author and journalist who has been working in Eastern and Central Europe for 20 years. A former BBC Central Europe Correspondent, Misha is also the author of four best-selling books and has spent several years in a courageous investigation of organised crime networks worldwide.

Misha Glenny gained recognition in the 1990s for his reporting on the Yugoslav wars and received the Sony Gold Award from the BBC in 1993 for his ‘outstanding contributions to broadcasting’. He advised the US and several southern European governments on policy matters. He produced the BBC 1 drama series "McMafia," based on his book and the BBC Radio 4 series and podcast "How to Invent a Country," which was published as an audiobook in 2021. In 2022, he presented "The Scramble for Rare Earths" on BBC Radio 4 which examines geopolitical tensions over limited metals and raw materials.
