Rodney Brooks is a pioneering roboticist and AI leader. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford, became a Professor of Robotics at MIT, and served as the founding Director of MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL). He co-founded iRobot in 1990, holding leadership roles including CTO and Chairman, and later founded Rethink Robotics, where he spent a decade advancing intelligent automation for manufacturing. A recipient of numerous prestigious honours, including the IEEE Founders Medal, Rodney also publishes a widely followed annual predictions scorecard evaluating long-term trends in robotics and AI—many of which have proven accurate over the past decade.
